Made from naturally white, pure beeswax, Cold Wax Medium is a soft paste formulated to knife consistency. This wax medium is used to make oil colors thicker and more matte, allowing the artist to create thicker impasto marks.

Cold Wax Medium can be applied as a matte finish varnish on oil or acrylic paintings. It is when applied to a surface, it still "breathes." Therefore, it still allows gasses from drying oil paints to escape and it can be applied to oil paint sooner than most varnishes.
