Great for thinning oil paints, when used in moderation Galkyd Lite Oil Painting Medium retains brushstrokes. Compared to Galkyd, Lite is more fluid and less gloss,y but still increases a pigment's transparency and gloss. Thin layers of paint mixed with this medium will dry within 24-30 hours. Galkyd Lite is excellent for low viscosity painting and gives the artist an expressive "painterly" effect. For new or beginner artists, Gamblin Artist's Oil Colors recommends Galkyd Light as a contemporary painting medium and a great place to start.
