Jack Richeson Semi-Hard Pastels
Semi-Hard Pastels by Jack Richeson are much harder than a soft pastel, like Schmincke. A Semi-Hard Pastel holds an edge very well and can be sharpened to a point; allowing for a very crisp line and almost no crumbling. The flat surface is excellent for shading. Semi-Hard Pastels are a great option for underpainting and feature excellent lightfastness.
