This large antique map has a rustic wood picture frame. Plexi-glass was used to reduce the over weight and increase durability. A clear, acrylic spacer is used between the glass and the map in order to keep them separate. (This is to prevent the build up of moisture.)

Large custom picture frames, especially of antique items, require special care. This map was slightly torn so our framer mounted it to a backing board to project  it from further damage. As always, it was framed using archival methods. This map is now ready to be displayed for years to come.
