Watercolor Painting Floated on a Mat Board
With this picture framing project, our client brought us a watercolor painting. A popular way to frame watercolors is to leave the original edge of the paper exposed. The creates an interesting and contemporary aesthetic and complements the artwork quite well.
To mount the image, a complimentary mat board is chosen and archival methods are used to float mount the artwork to it. Space is left between the frame and the artwork to create visual space. Lastly, a red-ish wood frame was chosen to accent the colors in the painting.
Museum quality glass was chosen to reduce reflections and allow for the best clarity when viewing the artwork.
