Artist Statement: With a background in Russian academic drawing I am in jealous admiration of American 20th century art. I take on any scale in painting, and the paint doesn't always win in the tug of war with my controlling instincts. I treat acrylic as a totally different medium when I use it on polymer paper as opposed to canvas. Discoveries made on both surfaces feed off one another, turning my painting process into a perpetual experimentation.
